Everything you need to know to make your movie:
A one-of-a-kind film festival.
The Pravets Film Festival is not traditional, meaning there is no overarching theme to abide by in order to make a successful film. All genres are welcome! The Pravets Film Festival features young filmmakers from across Bulgaria. Teams compete for prizes, have the opportunity to interact with other filmmakers, and view the films created for the festival. The Pravets Film Festival Event has a red carpet, a photographer, and an awards ceremony (so yes, we’d love it if you dressed up!)
Do:
Challenge yourself.
Use respectful and appropriate themes.
Be creative and have fun!
Don’t:
Create a music video.
Use inappropriate images or language.
Claim work as your own when it is not.
Team Information:
There can be up to seven (7) people on a team, all of whom must be a student at a high school in Bulgaria. Teams are required to register by April 10, 2024 at 23:59. Registration is now open, and can be found here.
Film Information:
Films must be 3-4 minutes long, in English. They must incorporate at least three (3) elements from the element list. (See the element list at the bottom of this page.) They must also have a hashtag in the credits to indicate the elements used. Also in the credits of the film, include your team name, the name of each of your team members, and cite any music used. Films are judged by international film experts in the categories of Cinematography, Story, Creativity, Overall Impact, and Use & Integration of Elements. Films must be submitted by May 10, 2023 at 23:59.
How to Submit:
Once you are registered, you are free to submit your film! We use Film Freeway, a trusted film submission website, to collect our film entries. To enter your film in the Pravets Film Festival, submit your film on our Film Freeway event page HERE. You may need to sign up with Film Freeway first. We will review your film privately to make sure all criterion have been met, and following that, we will send you an email confirming your submission! We can’t wait to see what you create.
